What is Facultative Carnivore?
"Facultative" means optional or adaptable. Facultative carnivore means eating primarily animal products but not exclusively — allowing for occasional plant foods if they work for the individual.
Core Principles
- Animal products only — Meat, fish, eggs, and animal fats as the foundation.
- Zero or minimal plants — Eliminating plant toxins, anti-nutrients, and inflammatory compounds.
- Nutrient density — Prioritising organ meats, fatty fish, and grass-fed sources.
- Electrolytes — Salt, magnesium, and potassium are essential on carnivore.
